I'm glad this is being revived, such an awesome project deserves a lot of attention and should have so many people working on it determinately. Unfortunately that didn't happen back when we first launched this thing, now I hope things turn out better.

Just so you know, I created the Recreation Station as a way for people to make retro stages for Sonic World. The reason it didn't take off was because after a while I decided it would be best to concentrate on the main game. Also, there wasn't enough people sending in levels for it.

Well. Here's the place for it then.

I guess having it here as a fan thing rather than an official thing would be a good idea.

Hey guys, I've recently discovered a couple of things that could lead to much better stages on my part. If they turn out to be helpful, I'll post a video about it.
Also, some of you may know that I went on a temporary hiatus to finish SupreMacy's Alpha version. I only have a handful of things to do before I release the first version, so I should return from the grave soon.
When I come back, I plan on making a video about the new Sonic World Re-Creations project on my YouTube channel, more on that later.
10/5/16 Edit: First update in a long while. Sonic World R7 is out, and 2 more stage recreations are included with the official release. Also, Jalex777 just released a quad-stage pack. 2 of those stages are under review by me. More updates later. Also completed a model for another stage recreation, here's hoping the collision works fine as it is a rip.

Why don't we recreate green hill act 1 from the genesis game using the textures from sonic adventure 2?

That could definitely work, but the textures from Generations are higher quality.

I thought that if it was in the quality of sa2 that it'd feel more like the original stage than generations (hell we can even use the genesis sprites to be the textures)

It's important that the stage is as good looking as possible. The SA2 textures are better than the originals and certainly are closer to the Genesis sprites, while the Generations ones are more detailed. Just don't use the original sprites! I haven't seen a good looking stage that uses sprites for textures yet. I think my brother was working on GG/MD Green Hill, but I don't think that anyone is doing Green Hill yet. I'm also gonna change the rules slightly when it comes to multi-act stages/zones.

I've seen stages use 8-bit graphics and look amazing for this engine

I've seen stages use 8-bit graphics and look amazing for this engine I'm not saying it's not possible, I've just never seen it personally. Edit: Jalex777's Crazy Gadget added to the list, Congrats Jalex777! Unfortunately, his version of IceCap didn't quite make the cut though.

I'm wondering... are you going to add any semi-modern stages? (Like Shadow's game, Riders [probably not], 06, Unleashed and the storybook games)
