This Poll will be closed in june 3rd.
Ok, Back Then when i made this forum I was wondering , what should i call it? I never had a good name untill I thought of Lost generations because basically this forum was originally going to be only for SG modding and lw modding, but then things start to change from blitz community and then to the whole fan-game community . well I still don;t like and at the same time like the title of this Forum but whatever i search in youtube or in Google for this forum, I don't find my forum in the result page . all i could find is that fan made project called lost generations mod for generations and lost world and it's sad that we're hard to find :\ .
share your thoughts on this subject and say if you like it or not and with the reason if you wanted to help us, basically we might change the name in the future depends on your thoughts and the staff.
THANKS

Yeah it's a nice name, and I can't think of a better one that isn't boring so yeah. Also that easter egg in the name: "Lost Generations", this place is for Sonic LOST World and Sonic GENERATIONS mods.

I think it's a really catchy name that's able to be remembered easily, which is good. But because of it's simplicity, searching it via google, or bing, will have too many results that drown it out. Might I suggest calling the forums "The Lost Generations Forums", or even "The Lost Generations Message Board"? That way you still have the cool name, but search engines can't mix it up, because of the more specific name. Search engines will also show it higher as the forums get more traffic.
But in the long run, it may be a good idea to register your own domain. I see that you guys already play ads (which, by the way, I disabled my adblock for) maybe use that revenue to invest in your own domain? When typing in "lostgenerations.org" or even "lostgenerations.net" it seems they aren't taken, so it might be a good idea to grab 'em before someone else does. You could also set up donations, to help keep the site up and running, so keeping the site up won't be as hard.

Also that easter egg in the name: "Lost Generations", this place is for Sonic LOST World and Sonic GENERATIONS mods. Nope, that is the most logic to relate, it has another meaning in fact: The SONIC community has LOST the GENERATIONS community < This forum was created around Febraury, when Generations modding community was slowly dying and only giving focus to Lost World. Even Eggmanland wasn't revealed by N69 at all, then. I think it's a really catchy name that's able to be remembered easily, which is good. But because of it's simplicity, searching it via google, or bing, will have too many results that drown it out. You could also set up donations, to help keep the site up and running, so keeping the site up won't be as hard. That's a great idea, indeed. In fact, I have thinking that maybe the lack of words in the title could be a reason we might be stuck and not attracting too much members. But, on second thoughts, we are lacking of own content and this site it's giving more a "mods index" function (people are posting other's people mods in a single place, so people find them more easly than in YouTube) but then again, that can be another reason why we're not attracting too much, because some modders could see his own mods posted here and think "why should I join? Most of my mods are already showcased, there's no need for me to be here", while non-modders could also think they can better go to YouTube, by personal thoughts or use to it. I already covered this in an anouncement, thought, and gave a possible solution to it. Back on topic, we're really looking forward into custom domain, as well. Anyway, we appreciate your opinions and ideas put into this and hopefully, we expect we can all improve The Lost Generations Forums (I'm starting to get used to that name lol), not just the staff, because you people would most likely inspires us and gives us the energy to make this place better everyday!

I suppose one way to encourage more people to make new content for these forums, is to introduce monthly activities? If any of you ever visited the SRB2 message boards, they host level design contests every couple of months (though, they don't seem to be doing it anymore...) and the winner would get their level in the next release of SRB2, as an unlockable level.
While obviously, there isn't any fangames/mods specific to this forum, because this forum covers a wide variety of topics, it might be beneficial to experiment with monthly activities similar to that. I mean, showcasing your projects here can only get the community so far. Because most of it is stuff people already knew about, and can access at other websites. group activities like that would definitely boost member interaction, and would attract other modders to this site.
And of course, having youtubers on the site could help a lot too, because if they do sonic-related content, they can share this site in their videos. Personally, I'd be willing to talk about this site in my "when fans step up" series, to help bring more traffic here.
And one more idea, is to create social network accounts for the Lost Generations Forums, if you haven't already. Make a Twitter, Youtube, and maybe a Facebook. All of the bigger Sonic fan sites, like the SSRG, Sonic Retro, and the Sonic Stadium have them, and they are ways to easily post small updates for the forum, as well as gain more attention, because those sites have millions apon millions of people.
Sorry to dump a bunch of suggestions all at once, but anyway I hope at least some of them help! I have a little bit of experience in stuff like this, so I'd thought I'd give my two cents, even though I'm still a new member, haha.
