I birng this a bit late, because I only later realized, how important this is.
On April 21st, SEGA Erope Announced SEGA Mega Drive classics hub for Steam to release on April 28th 2016.
It is a virtual 3D room of a 90s SEGA fan, with a library of Genesis / Mega Drive games and a Genesis / Mega Drive plus CRT TV.
It will be free and takes the Genesis / Mega Drive from your Steam library.
Listed features are:
- Spot-on emulation
- Local co-op for games that support it
- Optional graphic enhancement filters
- The ability to save at any point in the gameplay
- Full controller / keyboard support
So why do I post this here, you may ask?
SEGA also confirmed that there will also be mod / hacks support and that you can play your custom modified roms there.
So far thare weren't any Sonic games announced for launch. But if it really becomes a subject, our Genesis / Mega Drive section could thrive.
