Hey guys and girls (or everyone I guess.) Apparently, my Steam games are installed on my PC, but for some reason Steam says that they aren't installed and has to be installed, but if I install them, it will just replace the same files... POINTLESS  Here is an example with Sonic Adventure 2:  And yeah I have tried to re-install them, but it will tell me to re-install again... (Around 2 days) Thanks for reading, and hope you can give some help. |

Maybe use a pirated launcher. This isn't illoegal, since you bought it from steam.
Also, you would just use the launcher.

Ah, this is common, your Steam has registered the games folder somewhere other than SteamApps/common
Go to Settings and then Downloads, you should see Content Libraries, if you see something other than C:/Program Files (x86)\Steam then thats the issue

try right clicking it on steam > properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game cache.
Sometimes Steam will think that some files are missing, where in actuality, everything is there. This makes steam re-check the cloud, and compares it to your local files.

hmm, then the only other option is to make sure you back up your save file [C:>Program Files (x86)>Steam>SteamApps>common>Sonic Adventure 2>resourse>GD_PC>SAVEDATA] SONIC2B_ALF is the main save file (stage progression, emblems, etc.) and SONIC2B_S01 is the chao save. (if there are any others, that means you have multiple saves, you can go ahead and copy those, too) Copy/paste them into somewhere else, most likely your desktop for now. Then after all of this is done, delete the whole Sonic Adventure 2 folder, and try reinstalling it via steam. That way you should be able to fix Steam not thinking it's installed, but still keep your save files! Once you are finished re-installing it, just put the save files back where they were, and everything should be better!
If it still isn't fixed after that, the last course of action would be to delete steam off your PC, and reinstall it, maybe there was some corruption in the program's files. (If you do this, make sure you move the Steam Apps folder to somewhere safe, otherwise all of your games will be deleted!!)
